It's not all that easy to come up with a new Superman logo. It's got to be dynamic, pleasing and instantly recognizable. I played with old ideas such as the color scheme from the 1941 Fleischer Cartoons and some new ideas such as the alien design.
Just playing around with the overall proportions. I thought it might look good a bit stretched, but I find myself liking the more traditional shape better.
And a clean version...
